SUSTech Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies Forum 2020 held

On November 5, SUSTech Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies Forum 2020 was held. Acting Vice President and Dean of Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies Yusheng ZHAO hosted the forum. He was joined by President Shiyi CHEN, department leaders, and scholars.

President CHEN affirmed the Academy’s achievements since its establishment and pointed out that interdisciplinary study is critical for building a world-class university. He said the University would give full supports to interdisciplinary studies and hopes that the Academy will continue its efforts and achieve more fruitful results.

Assistant Dean of the Academy Zewei QUAN introduced the history, talent pipeline, progress, and plan of the Academy. Leaders from branches of the Academy, namely Material X, Energy-X, Medi-X, Ocean-X, Risks-X, Intelligence-X, Manufacturing-X, gave an introduction to their branches’ work and plan respectively.  

Then attendees were then split into six different subforums. Participants in related research areas gave reports on their academic achievements, and followed by the panel discussion.
