On April 26, ShanghaiRanking released its results for the Best Chinese Universities 2021. The Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) ranked 41st among 582 institutions in China. There were fourteen non “double first-class” universities ranked among the top 100, with SUSTech (41th) rated as the highest one.
This year, the overall score of SUSTech was 345.8, improving its ranking by five positions from 46th to 41st place. In the evaluating categories, SUSTech ranked highly in School Resources (6th overall), Faculty Scale and Structure (10th overall), and Academic Talents (8th overall).
“ShanghaiRanking’s Best Chinese Universities”, formerly known as “ShanghaiRanking’s China Best University Ranking”, was first released in 2015. There are ten evaluation categories for the universities: Education Level, Discipline Level, School Resources, Faculty Scale and Structure, Personnel Training, Scientific Research, Service of the Society, Academic Talents, Major Projects and Achievements, and International Competitiveness. It subdivides 35 evaluation dimensions, embeds hundreds of evaluation indicators, and involves hundreds of evaluation variables.
