On September 3, 2021, the High School Affiliated to the Southern University of Science and Technology (HSAS) held its Fall Semester 2021 Opening Ceremony and First Anniversary Celebration in the school’s gymnasium.

Peidong WANG, Principal of HSAS, and members of the leadership team of HSAS welcomed the teachers, students, and parents for the commencement of the new semester.

Guests from SUSTech included Fengliang LI, University Council Chairperson, Dongfeng GU, Acting Vice President of SUSTech, members of the University’s leadership team, along with heads and representatives from various faculties and departments.

Speaking at the event, Chairperson Fengliang LI acknowledged the performance of HSAS. He said that the high school has made many breakthroughs in the past year and has contributed to the reform and innovation of basic education in Shenzhen.

He hopes that HSAS will keep its original aspirations, be a pioneer in educational reform, and cultivate top talents through all aspects of teaching. He added that HSAS would have the full support of SUSTech, and strive to create a better environment for the future development of the high school.

Fengliang LI quoted the SUSTech motto, “Virtue, Truth, Advance,” to send a message to everyone at HSAS. He hopes that the teachers will continue providing guidance and promoting the students’ overall development at the high school. He also encouraged the students to be ambitious and strive for greatness.
