On March 22, the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and China Huadian Corporation Ltd. (CHD) marked the commencement of collaborations between both parties as they held a signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation agreement at the University.
The signing ceremony was attended by Yi JIANG, CHD Chairman of the Board, and Jingkai WU, Deputy General Manager of CHD, alongside Qikun XUE, President of SUSTech, Hongwei FANG, Vice President and Provost, and heads of related departments.
President Qikun XUE articulated the significance of this strategic partnership, noting that it would involve the sharing of resources and mutual synergies.
In alignment with the national strategy for fostering new productive forces, SUSTech has established ten university-level scientific research platforms, including the Energy Institute for Carbon Neutrality, the Shenzhen Institute of Sustainable Development, and the Institute of Advanced Biotechnology. These platforms, known for their capacity to undertake large projects and deliver major results aligned with national strategic needs, also align with CHD’s objectives and positioning.
Expressing optimism for the future, President XUE hopes to deepen cooperation in technology research and development, talent training, and other areas, with a commitment to advancing the nation’s development.
Yi JIANG acknowledged the achievements of SUSTech and outlined CHD’s current position and vision for future collaboration with the University.
He highlighted the distinctive strengths each party brings to the table across diverse fields, and expressed a desire for continued cooperation in marine development and utilization, hydrogen energy technology, and talent cultivation, envisaging mutual benefits that produce win-win outcomes for both sides.
