The Materials Characterization and Preparation Center (MCPC) of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) hosted laboratory accreditation training last month. More than 30 faculty members and staff from the MCPC joined engineers from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering for the training. Non-ferrous metals analysis expert Yan Muwen and Research & Technology Group chief expert Liu Ying taught them about CNAS accreditation and CMA certification.

The purpose of the training was to help all faculty members to familiarize themselves with the knowledge of CNAS accreditation and CMA accreditation. It sought to help everyone do a good job of accredited pre-construction, promote the establishment of laboratory quality management systems, and obtain the correct qualifications through accreditation.

The MCPC is an important public experimental platform for scientific research and teaching. It is also a R&D center for cutting-edge analytical and testing equipment, while promoting the development of analytical techniques and methods. It undertakes the unified management of shared scientific research equipment in all cross-research centers and departments of SUSTech. After the MCPC has been approved by CNAS, the MCPC will carry out further external testing services to make full use of the advantages of hardware resources of instruments and equipment. It will also provide scientific research, training and technology development services for institutions of higher learning, scientific research institutions and high-tech enterprises in South China and even the whole country.
