“With glory from sun and moon, there are gorgeous mountains and rivers in this warm spring; with warm sun and spring, there is a new atmosphere of a new year and a new land.” On evening of December 29, 2016, in the Lecture Hall of No.1 Scientific Research Building of our school, there is haunting music and burst of applauses, where Shengfeng National Chamber Orchestra from Central Conservatory of Music presents a wonderful visual and auditory feast to teachers and students here.

Shengfeng National Chamber Orchestra, a general champion of combinations in 2012 CCTV Chinese Instrumental Music TV Competition, was granted golden award of Folk Music Combination in the 2013 9^th Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music. Shengfeng Orchestra participated in a New Year Concert of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, “Cape Town International Music Festival of Chorus and Band” in South Africa, and other domestic and overseas important performances. Shengfeng Orchestra carries forward beauty of folk music and present beauty of Chinese music to the world with practical actions

Concert venue

Concert is started with fresh and leisurely ensemble of instrumental music Little Running River. Wonderful melody brings on-site audiences an artistic conception of composition. Next, compositions of different characteristics are performed consecutively one by one, Jingqu of dense color and taste from Beijing Opera, elegant and clear Xianjuyin, wretched and plaintive River of Sorrow and Elegy with Erhu solo, Camel bell on Silk Road with Ruan and Erhu ensemble which describes arduousness of caravan riding camel which pass through ancient Silk Road, Navarre of Erhu duet with style of Spanish dances, Beacon of instrumental music ensemble which represents fierceness of ancient battle field, Bull Fighting Tiger of percussion ensemble which represents the fierce scene when bull and tiger are fighting, Flower Drum of instrumental music ensemble with lively rhythm and high zeal, and etc.

Some different and unique compositions are selected in this concert. Selected compositions are originally created by the Orchestra, or full of plots or national customs. All is fresh to everyone, brings a new experience and presents something more about activity and creativity of new generation of folk music performers. Members of the Orchestra take everyone to a fairy land of folk music with superb skills control, sensitive sound control, perfect artistic performance and elegant stage atmosphere, leaving everyone a profound impression.

When formal compositions have been performed, teachers and students are still trapped in the music. Shengfeng Orchestra performs Horse Racing, a famous composition of the Mongol nationality, as an end.
