SUSTech and Shenzhen Capital Group Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

On the afternoon of April 16th 2017, the closing ceremony of the 15th China International Talent Exchange Conference was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. The highlight of the event was when the venture capital company Shenzhen Capital Group received the award for “Best Organization” of the event.

Attending the ceremony were a number of notable government and corporate leaders including:

  • Deputy Director of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Lu Ming

  • Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, Ai Xuefeng

  • Director of the Foreign Experts Bureau of Guangdong Province

  • SUSTech President Chen Shiyi

  • Chief Accountant of the School of the People’s Republic of China,

  • Shenzhen Capital Group Chairman Mr. Ni Zewang and President Sun Dongsheng

SUSTech and SCGC Agreement in the signing

During the closing ceremony, SUSTech and Shenzhen Capital Group (SCGC) signed an agreement of strategic cooperation, paving the way to a closer relationship between both parties with the placement of graduates, the removal of cross-industry barriers, and investment in scientific and technological applications among many other areas.

According to the agreement, SUSTech and SCGC will establish a daily contact mechanism in order to maintain fluid communication at all times, a key point to ensure optimal cooperation. Together, the two sides will build a platform for innovation, and SCGC will bring a training framework for the students to develop their sense of business and investment.

Shenzhen Capital Group Co., Ltd. was founded by the Shenzhen Municipal Government in 1999 to set up an investment vehicle for the region. Since its beginning, the company has been committed to cultivating the national industry, shaping domestic brands, promoting economic restructuring and upgrading and developing new industries. It has become one of the strongest domestic investment groups, and the most influential among local venture capital firms, with a registered capital of 4.2 billion yuan. The total size of the fund today is about 208 billion yuan, and at the end of March 2017, the total assets of the company were worth 23 billion yuan, with net assets reaching 13 billion yuan.

SCGC invests in small and medium enterprises, focused on innovation in high-tech and new industries. It specialises in sectors such as information technology, Internet and new media, bio-medicine, new energy and efficient energy use, new chemicals and materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, consumer goods and modern services and other sectors which are at the center of national policies. As of the end of March 2017, the group has invested in 730 domestic companies, with a cumulative investment amount of about 27.9 billion Yuan, of which 119 investment enterprises were listed in 16 global capital markets.
