SUSTech Department of Materials Science and Engineering Signs Three Practical Workshop Bases

In order to maximize the multi-faceted collaborations between the university and local industry, SUSTech drives for a strong push for students to explore their interests and sense of innovation. Recently, the Department of Materials science and engineering has joined forces with Xinzhoubang Technology Co., Guangyun Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. and a third well-known company here in Shenzhen to establish a “student practical workshop agreement” and held a ceremony for the signing.

At the ceremony, the Chair professor of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering Cheng Xinhe and Deputy Chair professor Tian Yanqing, introduced the construction, scientific research and personnel training of their department respectively. He Zhu Bing, associate professor, then introduced the practical training of undergraduates.

The three companies hope that this agreement can pave the way to deeper and more substantial relationships with the university and its students.

The professors and business leaders conducted friendly consultations together on industrial practice, personnel training, technical exchanges, scientific research and cooperation, and agreed to establish a comprehensive relationship between production and research for which they signed the “Student Practice Base Construction Agreement”.
