SUSTech Technology Transfer Center hosts International Tech Transfer Conference

Earlier this week, the Technology Transfer Center (TTC) of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) worked with the Bao’an District People’s Government, the Shenzhen Industrial Technology Research Institute (SZITRI) and Bao’an District Science, Technology & Innovation Bureau to host the 2nd International Technology Transfer Forum (Forum).

Representatives from top universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Europe, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and the rest of the world joined more than 100 experts from local high-tech enterprises & investments institutions at the Forum. During the Forum, experts from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of Birmingham, Newcastle University (UK), University College Dublin, National University of Singapore, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Waseda University (Japan), the University of Electro-Communications Tokyo (Japan) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency provided keynote speeches.

The Forum included lectures on technology transfer eco-system, and road shows on cutting-edge projects. The achievements on display covered fields such as artificial intelligence (AI) + medicine, robotics and new materials. There were also several discussions about how to best explore the advantages of internationally innovative systems in China, in order to help industry-university research and international cooperation around technology transfer models.

The Forum sought to strength information exchanges on technology transfer, promote cooperation between technology transfer institutions and advance closer integration of scientific research results with industrial needs. It aimed to provide sufficient resources for the industrialization of latest technology, in order to break through technology bottlenecks and have multiple parties integrate their resources for their mutually beneficial development.
