On December 18, the Lynn Library at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) launched the “Ode to the Motherland- Painting Exhibition.” The exhibition was launched by the Communications and Public Relations Office, Student Affairs Office, Lynn Library, Center for the Arts, and the Political Education and Research Center.

The SUSTech Center for the Arts worked with Mr. Chen Ken, who guided more than 30 students over a year to create the four large pieces. The works were themed around the student’s love of their university and their country, using the campus as the main body of the four paintings. Zhejiang University School of Art and Archaeology Associate Dean Professor Wang Xiaosong was invited to be the artistic director of the exhibition.

The students used a unique combination of colors, light, and shadow to express their feelings for their motherland and alma mater. The exhibition is a continuation of the aesthetic education at SUSTech that reflects the attention being paid to the overall development of our students. It also allows the wider Shenzhen society to understand the comprehensive training being undertaken at SUSTech.

The exhibition will remain open on the third floor of the Lynn Library until January 7, 2020.
