On the evening of May 25, Qinghai Normal University’s original drama “The Song of Yong Huai” was performed in the concert hall of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) Convention Center.

Yurong GUO, University Council Chairperson, Fengliang LI, University Council Vice Chairperson, other members of the leadership team at SUSTech, Cunning XU, Deputy Secretary of Qinghai Normal University, and more than 500 faculty staff and students attended the performance.

Yurong GUO welcomed the guests from Qinghai Normal University. She said that the performance of Qinghai’s drama team at SUSTech was an innovative approach by both universities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. She noted it was a demonstration of the strong relationship between both parties.

Cunning XU spoke briefly after the event and hoped that the audience in attendance enjoyed the performance. He noted that “The Song of Yong Huai” is an original drama created and performed by students of Qinghai Normal University. It is based on one of the founders of modern Chinese mechanics, a famous applied mathematician, and aerodynamicist. He added that both universities would continue to deepen exchanges in the future through their drama schools and various other projects.

The performance of this original drama at SUSTech is a significant step between Qinghai Normal University and SUSTech in carrying out art and cultural exchanges. Guoyang QIN and Zhao Hangyu, both of whom were previous undergraduates of SUSTech, participated in the first act of the drama.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, SUSTech has launched a series of events and educational activities for all members of SUSTech to participate in.
