On March 8, to mark the 112^th International Women’s Day and pay tribute to the women of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), the University held a themed event to celebrate the holiday

Fengliang LI, University Council Chairperson, and Ling ZHANG, University Council Vice-Chairperson of SUSTech and Chairman of the Trade Union, attended the event. They spoke with many members who participated in the event.

Chairperson Fengliang LI and SUSTech President Qikun XUE sent greetings and kind wishes to the female faculty members, staff, and students in the University’s International Women’s Day promotional video.

Chairperson LI said that the female members of SUSTech have shown their strong willpower and determination in the development of the University and are the pacesetters that continue to drive its success.

President XUE said that they are the creators of the rapid development of the University and have played an essential role in SUSTech being selected as a “Double First-Class” university. He hopes they will continue to achieve significant results together.

The International Women’s Day gathering was organized and hosted by the the Trade Union Office and co-organized by the Office of Communications & Public Relations (CPR) and other departments. The event adhered to the epidemic prevention and control measures and was attended by faculty members and staff of the University.

In a warm and jovial atmosphere, the guests participated in activities such as artistic flower arrangements and making homemade fireless incense.
