The finals of the 3rd National Experimental Teaching Case Design Competition for Electronic Information Courses in Universities (RIGOL Cup) was recently held at Nanjing University.

More than 400 teams from more than 100 universities across the country, including Tsinghua University and Nanjing University, participated in the competition.

Linlin XU, Laboratory Instructor from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering (EEE) at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), won the First Prize for her experimental teaching design “Characteristic test and application experiment of liquid crystal device”.

The award-winning design project is a comprehensive experiment in the “Fundamentals of Optoelectronics Technology” experimental course. In addition to allowing students to comprehensively understand and master the characteristics of liquid crystal devices, it inspires students to further think about the application of liquid crystal devices in the field of optoelectronic precision measurement.

The Electronic Information Teaching Laboratory of the Department of EEE is an experimental teaching demonstration center in Guangdong Province, which includes the Teaching Laboratory for Electronic Foundation, the Teaching Laboratory for Optoelectronic Information, and the Innovative Teaching Laboratory of Wireless Communication. It is mainly responsible for the experimental teaching of more than ten courses, including Analog Circuits Laboratory, Digital Circuits Laboratory, Advanced Electronic Science Experiment I, Fundamentals of Optoelectronic Technology, and Optical Design.

The RIGOL Cup is sponsored by the Electronic Information Professional Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, the Electronic Discipline Group of the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, and the China Education Society of Electronics. It aims to promote the application of excellent case design in experimental teaching, and to cultivate the innovation and practical ability of students majoring in electronic information.
