President Chen Shiyi welcomed the guests and briefed them on the current faculty structure and the policies of talent introduction.

President Chen highlighted the significant role of the talent plan for the development of a university as well as a city. Talent introduction drives the rapid development of SUSTech, he said.

Deputy director Lao Zhihong approved the achievement and the talent introduction work of SUSTech. He hoped that the communication and cooperation with SUSTech and other organizations which attract high-end talents can promote the talent development plan of Guangdong province.

SUSTech has been attaching great importance to the introduction and cultivation of talents since its foundation. By the end of September 2017, about 430 faculty members were recruited by SUSTech. Over 90% are recruited from overseas and more than 60% have either worked or obtained degrees from the world’s top 100 universities.
