On July 3, Zeng Xuelian from the Organizational Department of Shenzhen Municipal Committee led a delegation to SUSTech. Her delegation included representatives from Zeng’s department and the Public Service Center for Human Resources and Talents of Shenzhen Municipality. SUSTech’s representatives included University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong, President Chen Shiyi, Vice President Tang Tao, Chief Financial Officer Chen Siqi, and Human Resources Office Director Chen Zhifeng.

Guo Yurong warmly welcomed Zeng’s delegation and sincerely appreciated the Organizational Department’s support for SUSTech’s faculty team building: “Because of Shenzhen Municipality’s favorable policies on talent acquisition, a large number of extraordinary academic experts have been attracted to SUSTech. As the talent policies have become increasingly favorable for global talents, we hope the Organizational Department continues to show support for SUSTech’s development.”

President Chen Shiyi shared the same sentiments, adding: “SUSTech will also improve its own talent policies and build a stronger faculty team.” Vice President Tang Tao went on to describe the overall situation of SUSTech’s academic faculty and offered a few suggestions on the protection of faculty’s rights.

Zeng Xuelian promised to protect the rights of extraordinary academic experts and would work with SUSTech on getting more global talents to move to Shenzhen. The two parties also exchanged opinions on the talents’ salary, medical care, housing and their children’s education.
