Last week saw the Office of Communications and Public Relations of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) work with the publicity secretaries of academic, administrative and research departments across the University to visit Shenzhen Media Group (SZMG). The field trip was part of OCPR’s ongoing media training for the University and its staff.
At Shenzhen Radio and Television Group, the SUSTech staff were led to the different studios, including the news studio and virtual studio. They were also introduced to the different zones and production facilities of the Shenzhen Satellite Television Studio.
The SUSTech staff met with journalists at the Southern Metropolitan Daily (Shenzhen) and shared their experiences in the new era of media. Reporters talked about their expertise in areas such as finding news spots, making news plans and building their own media platforms. The SUSTech publicity secretaries enlightened the journalists as to how they write their high-end university news.
The publicity secretaries learned a lot, saying that the field trip broadened their horizons and enhanced their awareness of the media and the business behind it.
The Office of Communications and Public Relations organized the field trip with the goal of strengthening the professional level and awareness of the wider publicity team across campus. It wants to carry better out its communication goals in telling and publicizing the achievements of SUSTech.
