On April 24, SUSTech Graduate School organized a training session with over 120 of its academic advisors in attendance. Vice Dean of Graduate School Yang Shuanghua introduced some basic facts about the graduate school before giving the floor to University Superintendent of Chinese Academy of Sciences Ma Shizhuang.
Ma delivered a lecture on the role of advisors in fostering talent and innovating education while he also emphasized the importance of work ethics and finding each students’ unique strength. He also shared a lot of personal experience as advisor and offered practical suggestions during the Q&A section.
Training for graduate advisors takes place twice per year.
