The Chinese headquarters of Apostle Inc., an international liquid biopsy company, supported by the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) was launched in Bao’an District earlier this week.
Bao’an District Mayor Guo Ziping and SUSTech Council member and Director of Communications and Public Relations Zhang Ling attended the launch ceremony with senior leaders of the Bao’an District Government and SUSTech.
Apostle Inc. CEO & President David Ge talked about the story how the company was founded and developed. David Ge is also a faculty member at the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at SUSTech. With a management team that includes Forbes China 30 under 30 entrepreneur, scientific specialists and other business people, it has management experience from top biomedical businesses in the world. The StartX program of Stanford University has selected Apostle Inc. as part of its accelerator program. Apostle Inc. is among the top 20 biomedical startups in the US named by BioSpace, with a partnership with Beckman Coulter, a top international medical device manufacturer.
Bao’an District Deputy Mayor Gao Zhiyuan congratulated Apostle Inc. and SUSTech on launching their Chinese headquarters. He said that the Apostle Inc. Chinese headquarters will become an important platform for Bao’an District to show innovative biotechnology to the world. Bao’an District will continue to focus on biomedical technology in the future in order to develop the district into a pinnacle for clinical technological innovation and applications.
SUSTech Director Zhang Ling spoke on behalf of SUSTech, and thanked the Bao’an District Committee and the District Government for their support to the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at SUSTech. He hoped that SUSTech and Bao’an District would continue to work together to build industry-university research for biomedical science and technology. SUSTech would also seek to promote original scientific innovations in Bao’an, Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area.
