Prior to the start of the first day of the new academic year, Southern University of Science and Technology held a flag raising ceremony, as an action to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Director of Student Affairs Office Xue Zheng presided over the ceremony.

At 8am, more than one thousand students from the Class of 2023 assembled in Green Pine Stadium with faculty members to participate in the flag-raising ceremony. Despite the heavy rain, there was deep passion in every voice when the flag slowly rose and the national anthem was sung.

He pointed out that the flag-raising ceremony is an important action for SUSTech to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
