Recently, three students (Class of 2020) from SUSTech Department of Biology who participated in the King’s College London (KCL) “3+1” Program (Dual Degree) passed the defense of master’s thesis. Jixuan HUANG got a 1st Class degree, Yuanyuan TANG and Yibin ZHOU got a 2nd Class degree.
SUSTech Department of biology and King’s College London have carried out a “3 +1” joint undergraduate training program since 2019.
The program requires undergraduate students to complete all courses at SUSTech in the first three years with excellent academic performance, and then continue their master program in KCL in the following year. After passing the examinations of SUSTech and KCL, the student could obtain a bachelor’s degree from SUSTech and a master’s degree from KCL.
SUSTech has been actively promoting the cooperation with world-class universities and exploring the joint training mode of innovative talents. The Department of Biology has developed joint training programs with the University of Edinburgh and King Abdullah University of Science & Technology, Summer Research Program with Johns Hopkins University, and exchange programs with the University of California, Berkeley.
SUSTech students have expanded their international vision and laid a good foundation for further study through these international exchange programs.
