On November 1, former Assistant Director-General for Education of UNESCO Qian TANG’s book launch was held in SUSTech. His new book is My 25 Years in International Organizations.

SUSTech co-hosted the activity with International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (ICHEI), Foreign Affairs Committee office of Shenzhen Municipal Committee, and Shenzhen Reading Month Organizing Committee Office.

SUSTech Vice President Chun LU hosted the meeting. He was joined by the author Qian TANG, Deputy Director of Shenzhen People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Ting GU, University Council Vice Chairperson Fengliang LI, and Director of ICHEI Ming LI.

My 25 Years in International Organizations records the operational structure of international organizations, shows the turbulent game among great powers, and vividly describes the practice and thinking of Qian TANG’s deep participation in global governance.

Qian TANG said that China is becoming more and more open to the world and plays an increasingly important role in the international community. In this context, we need more Chinese people to participate in international diplomacy and international organizations. Young people need to have an excellent global vision and multiple ways of thinking to adapt to a more internationalized life. He wrote the book My 25 Years in International Organizations to express his hope that our Chinese people, especially young people, can gain from their own experience, seize the opportunities of the times and make their contributions to our country’s development.

Ting GU and Fengliang LI delivered speeches respectively, congratulating Qian TANG on the publication of his new book.

The former Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova and Secretary-General of China’s UNESCO National Committee Changwei QIN also expressed their congratulations online.

Later, Qian TANG presented books to the library of SUSTech, Shenzhen University Library, and ICHEI.

In the section on communication and exchanges, Qian TANG, Ting GU, Ming LI, and other scholars exchanged their ideas. The readers were also actively engaged in the interaction.

At the end of the activity, Qian TANG signed on the spot. As the 21st Shenzhen Reading Month opens, this activity will also be listed as one of the publicity activities of the Shenzhen Reading Month series.
