In order to further improve the efficiency of SUSTech teachers and students using the Taiyi super-computing cluster and solve the technical problems encountered by users, the Science and Engineering Computing Center of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) held the first user training session, with nearly 200 teachers and students in attendance.
The Taiyi high-performance super-computing cluster was installed in October 2018 and opened to everyone at SUSTech on December 18. The cluster was ranked 127th in the SC2018 Global Super-computing Conference held from November 11 to 16, 2018. This placed it 1st among civilian domestic universities.
Director of the Science and Engineering Computing Center of SUSTech Fan Jing briefed the audience about his department and its resource application system. Lenovo engineers then conducted a one-hour training session, covering areas such as the Taiyi cluster computing resources, cluster architecture, cluster normalization in use and related Linux foundations.
The Science and Engineering Computing Center plans to regularly collect relevant technical issues encountered by users when using clusters and launch more targeted training programs in the future.
