At the beginning of June, the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering (MEE) at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) hosted a unique exhibition of students’ projects, entitled “Project Exhibition on New Engineering.” SUSTech Vice President Tang Tao, Dean of the College of Engineering Xu Zhenghe, Associate Dean of the College of Engineering Zhang Bi, Dean of the Department of System Design and Intelligent Manufacturing Wu Jingshen and Shenzhen University Professor Wang Huaquan all attended the exhibition with representatives of many companies, faculty members and students. Head of MEE and Chair Professor Rong Yiming presided over the exhibition.
Vice President Tang Tao said that the course exhibition reflects the active exploration of the new engineering curriculum at SUSTech. It also saw the union of SUSTech’s innovative teaching practices with international education concepts. He hoped that similar events will be held often in the future to provide students with more opportunities to learn and practice.
The course is designed to showcase students’ comprehensive training results of the new engineering courses, focusing on their manufacturing skills and engineering quality. The exhibition covered 15 groups across all year levels and various disciplines within mechanical and energy engineering. 101 works were exhibited, reflecting the novelty, variety, practicality and hands-on ability of SUSTech students.
