KCL delegation visits SUSTech

On the morning of December 13, Tayyeb Shah, Director of International at King’s College London (KCL) visited Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Lu Chun, Chief Operating Officer of SUSTech, met the visitors.

Lu welcomed the delegation led by Shah. He noted that KCL is a prestigious university in the world, expecting that two sides will take this opportunity to establish contacts, enhance mutual understanding, explore cooperation opportunities, and carry out cooperation and exchanges in life science, medicine and health science.

Hou Shengtao, Director of the Department of Global Engagement, introduced SUSTech, including its orientation, majors, faculty, global engagement and student life, expecting the two sides to carry out all-round cooperation in undergraduate exchange, graduate education and scholar exchange visit.

Shah introduced KCL’s history, disciplinary advantage, students and global engagement, with emphasis on its cooperation with China. KCL has fine academic tradition and leads the world in a couple of disciplinary fields, and Shenzhen is a city full of vitality and opportunities, said him, expecting the two sides to carry out cooperation and exchanges in life science, medicine and mental health science.

Zhang Yun, Representative of KCL in China, accompanied Shah. Xiao Guozhi, Chair of the Department of Biology and Prof. Gu Jun, Senior Advisor to the Preparatory Office of the Medical School, SUSTech, attended the meeting.

Prior to the meeting, the guests visited SUSTech’s sand table to find out campus construction and planning.
