Senior leaders inspect campus for first day of semester

September 2nd saw the first day of the 2019-20 academic year at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), accompanied by the summer rain throughout Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area. Students and faculty members are full of enthusiasm for the new opportunities that lie ahead.

On the morning of September 3, SUSTech President Chen Shiyi, University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang, Vice President Lu Chun, and Acting Vice President & Provost Zhang, Dongxiao and Acting Vice President Zhao Yusheng led a delegation across campus to check that everything is ready for the new semester.

The delegation inspected several laboratories and classrooms in Teaching Buildings #1 and 2, as well as Lychee Hills. President Chen declared the importance of teaching work for the new semester, pointing out that the cultivation of innovative future leaders is an important task for SUSTech. Faculty members and departments are expected to offer well-rounded and high quality curriculum across all subject matters and promote continual improvement in their teaching quality. The provision of an excellent teaching environment is needed to guarantee pedagogic excellence

In order to improve the quality of teaching, senior leaders across SUSTech conduct on-the-spot quality inspections on the quality of education and scientific research in schools to constantly optimize and improve the quality of school teaching
