SUSTech University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang welcomed the calligraphers to SUSTech, thanking them for their support for the development of campus culture. The Spring Couplet Calligraphy Festival has become a popular event on the SUSTech calendar. While SUSTech is a science and engineering university, it has always attached great importance to the development of its liberal arts curriculum, and so activities like this enhance the campus culture while providing others with an opportunity to partake in traditional Chinese culture on campus.
Guangdong Artists Association Vice-Chairman Liang Yu was thrilled to bring more than a dozen calligraphers from the Shenzhen Calligraphers Association to SUSTech for the 4th Annual Spring Couplet Calligraphy Festival. This activity will improve the quality of traditional Chinese culture at SUSTech.
Both Li Fengliang and Liang Yu completed a blessing on the ceremonial wall to open the 4th Annual Spring Couplet Calligraphy Festival.
The century-old banyan tree welcomed everyone with the Couplet Calligraphy Festival, with the assembled calligraphy masters preparing gorgeous couplets for the SUSTech community.
A calligraphy robot also wrote pairs of couplets, reflecting the integration of art and technology.
Hundreds of Chinese New Year’s couplets, meaning good luck, were painted, expressing the beautiful vision of leaving the old year and welcoming in the new year.
