The High School Affiliated to Southern University of Science and Technology (HSAS) commenced a one-month summer teacher training course on June 8 on the campus of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). The training course is part of the welcoming preparation for its first class of students in the upcoming autumn semester.

SUSTech University Council Chairperson Yurong GUO, East China Normal University Public Administration Department Dean Yukun CHEN, SUSTech Experimental Education Group Principal Jiahong TANG and HSAS Principal Peidong WANG all attended the three-day training. Other leaders and representatives of SUSTech were also present.

HSAS Vice-principal Xiaomin LI hosted the event. In total, 60 experienced and new teachers formally became part of HSAS. The month-long training course includes career development seminars that offer abundant training and resources. It aims to provide teachers with multi-dimensional resources from various aspects to deepen their understanding of education.

University Council Chairperson, Yurong GUO spoke at the event, expressing gratitude to the Shenzhen Municipal Government and the Shenzhen Municipal Committee for their generous support. She welcomed the teachers to the SUSTech community. HSAS inherits the spirits of SUSTech and seeks to become a top-notch high school that nurtures talents for Shenzhen and China.

SUSTech Academic Affairs Dean Kefu HUANG believes HSAS will become a top high school. SUSTech Experimental Education Group principal Jiahong TANG encouraged the new teachers to consider the greater mission of education and to be an inspiration for students. Creativity will lead HSAS down the path of becoming an exemplary future education institute.

HSAS principal Peidong WANG stated that as HSAS strives to become a school of the future with the spirits of SUSTech, it will also distinguish itself from other top-ranking high schools in Shenzhen. HSAS will foster future leaders with ambition, creativity, self-confidence, and global vision.
