On April 15, the launching ceremony of the 6th “Xiake Cup” Jiangyin Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were held at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).
Hanjie CHEN, Deputy Mayor of Jiangyin City, Fei XU, Director of Science and Technology Bureau of Jiangyin City, Ling ZHANG, University Council Vice-Chairperson of SUSTech, Zhenghe XU, Dean of the College of Engineering, Yi GONG, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Engineering, and representatives of related departments and enterprises attended the event.
At the launching ceremony, Hanjie CHEN said he looked forward to taking the competition as an opportunity for more innovative and entrepreneurial talents to come to Jiangyin and work together.
He expressed his expectations for cooperation between both parties, noting that they must guide talents in science and technology innovation projects and platforms in Jiangyin, and take advantage of SUSTech in discipline development, talent training, and injecting impetus into science and technology innovation in Jiangyin.
Vice-Chairperson Ling ZHANG said that the University has implemented talent training plans and innovative development strategies to reform innovation and entrepreneurship education, integrate innovation and entrepreneurship education into talent training, and promote the development of SUSTech as a ‘Double First-Class” university. He added that he looks forward to more university-enterprise cooperation with a modern industrial city such as Jiangyin.
Zhenghe XU spoke about the development of the College of Engineering at SUSTech. He emphasized that it would continue to deepen university-enterprise-government collaboration, and through cooperation between both sides, jointly cultivate innovative talents and promote technological development.
At the ceremony, representatives from both parties jointly unveiled the Jiangyin Talent Introduction Workstation of SUSTech.
During their visit to the University, the guests from Jiangyin were given a guided tour of the campus and visited locations such as the SUSTech exhibition of development and achievements.
