On the morning of January 13, 2026, the first meeting of the fourth Investment Committee of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) Education Foundation was held in Conference Room 201 of the office building. Hong JIANG, University Council Chairperson and Chairman of the Education Foundation; Li JIN, Vice President of the University, Acting Dean of the College of Business, and Vice Chairman of the Education Foundation; as well as members of the Investment Committee and the Foundation’s Secretariat attended the meeting.

Hong JIANG pointed out that the members of this Investment Committee bring together key forces from the industry and play an important role in the history of the school foundation. She shared the achievements SUSTech has made in faculty recruitment and development, talent cultivation, and discipline construction. She emphasized that since its establishment, the Education Foundation has provided significant resource support for the school’s development. She noted that the school is at a critical stage of the “Double First-Class” construction, making financial security and resource expansion crucial. She expressed the hope that all committee members will fully leverage their professional expertise in resource integration and financial management to help the foundation broaden social resource channels, enhance the efficiency of fund operations, and provide a more solid and strong support for the school’s development.

In his speech, Li JIN suggested developing the Education Foundation into a pilot platform, actively exploring feasible models for universities’ foundations to support technological innovation, and forming beneficial experiences that can be replicated and promoted. He also specifically proposed that efforts should be made to broaden fundraising channels, further explore attracting overseas donations through the Hong Kong platform, while properly balancing the demands of social donations with the public welfare and compliance requirements of universities. He looked forward to committee experts speaking freely, offering suggestions, and helping to optimize and upgrade the foundation’s investment work, so that with a more professional operating model, resources from multiple sides can be gathered to better support the school’s development and help the school build an ecosystem of technological innovation.
Director of the Office of Communications and Development, Secretary General of the Education Foundation, and Secretary General of the Alumni Association Jun GENG reported on the overall situation and financial status of the foundation at the meeting.

The meeting also reviewed the 2026 investment and financial management plan, and the members engaged in an in-depth discussion on site, offering valuable opinions and suggestions.
