On May 7, 2026, Chenglin BAI, Secretary of the Party Committee of Liaocheng University in Shandong, led a team to the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) for a research visit. Qikun XUE, President of SUSTech, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and CAS Academician Yang Xueming, among others, had discussions and exchanges with the guests.

Qikun XUE expressed a welcome to Chenglin BAI and his delegation and introduced SUSTech’s explorations and practices as a new type of research-oriented university in areas such as personnel systems, research management, commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and strengthening university-local-enterprise collaboration leveraging Shenzhen’s industrial advantages. He expressed the hope that both sides can take this exchange as an opportunity to establish practical cooperation mechanisms, fully leverage their respective strengths, and promote more collaborative achievements.

Chenglin BAI highly praised the rapid and high-quality development of SUSTech. He introduced Liaocheng University’s development history, discipline layout, and research platform construction. He noted that SUSTech’s experiences in discipline construction, commercialization of research achievements, and university-local integrated development are highly instructive. BAI expressed his anticipation for mutual empowerment between the two universities, achieving win-win development in faculty team building, discipline construction, and research platform cooperation.
