The 25th China University Robot Competition ROBOCON and ABU ROBOCON 2026 domestic selection contest concluded at Jiangyin Campus of Nanjing University of Science and Technology. The team from the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) Robotics Club won four second-place prizes and one third-place prize.
Under the careful guidance and support of Head of the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, Professor Chenglong FU, Associate Teaching Professor Wende KE, Vice Head of the Department, Professor Yongsheng MA, Lab Technician Qianli ZENG, Lecturer Yixuan GUO, and Teaching Professor Dong LU, more than 30 undergraduates and graduate students from the Robotics Club leveraged their solid technical foundation, continuous engineering practice, and strong teamwork to win four second-place prizes and one third-place prize in the “Exploring the Martial Arts World” Robot Challenge, the Bionic Legged Robot Challenge, and the ROBOCON exchange competition. Notably, they achieved a second-place prize, 18th nationwide, in the official “Exploring the Martial Arts World” Robot Challenge, showcasing the practical skills of Nanjing University of Science and Technology students in robot design, control, and system integration.
The National College Student Robotics Contest ROBOCON is a comprehensive robotics competition for college students. The 25th edition of the competition centered around events like the “Exploring the Martial Arts World” Robot Challenge and the Bionic Legged Robot Challenge. In particular, the “Exploring the Martial Arts World” Robot Challenge included both a competitive match and skill contests such as “Wulin Exploration” and “Nine-Palace Treasure Hunt,” which comprehensively tested participating teams on mechanical design, motion control, perception and task execution, overall reliability, and teamwork.
