Ke LIU Wins the 2nd Guangdong Friendship Award
The Guangdong Friendship Award is an important honor established by the provincial government to recognize foreigners who have made outstanding contributions to Guangdong’s economic and social development and international exchanges. It is awarded once every three years. At the award ceremony for the second Guangdong Friendship Award, Xi WANG, Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Committee, met with the award recipients. After the ceremony, Ke LIU was invited to attend the Guangdong Province reception celebrating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Since its founding, SUSTech has continuously encouraged a wide range of experts and scholars to put down roots in the Greater Bay Area, serve as international bridges, and actively promote Sino-foreign collaboration in science and technology, deep integration in education, and bidirectional talent exchanges. SUSTech has consistently used global knowledge to empower regional scientific and technological innovation and high-standard opening up. In recent years, Ke LIU, a well-known expert in the energy field, has focused on the forefront of green and low-carbon technology. He has led multiple major research projects at the provincial and municipal levels, advancing key technologies such as low-carbon methanol, integrated distributed alcohol-photovoltaic storage power generation systems, coal micro-mineral separation, and soil improvement. He has further developed these technologies in Guangdong, promoting their industrial application across the country. At the same time, he has leveraged his international academic resources and industry influence to actively promote Sino-foreign energy science and technology exchange and collaboration, building platforms for international academic discussions and industry-academia-research cooperation, continuously enriching the regional innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
