On October 10th, the Southern University of Science and Technology’s (SUSTech) Entrepreneurship College 2026 Rixin Training Camp held its opening ceremony at the Dacheng Auditorium of the College of Business. SUSTech’s University Council Chairperson Hong JIANG, University Council Vice-Chairperson Ling ZHANG, heads of relevant departments, as well as guests from enterprises and investment institutions, innovation and entrepreneurship mentors, alumni, and student representatives attended.

In her speech, Hong JIANG praised the achievements of the Entrepreneurship College and the Rixin Training Camp and expressed high hopes for the participants. The Entrepreneurship College was established on SUSTech’s 15th anniversary, based on the positioning of a new-type research-oriented university, upholding the “Research, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship” characteristics, and cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial talent through the “Four-Innovation Integration” educational approach and a “Three-Mentor” guidance system. This training camp is the 6th Rixin Training Camp and also the first one since the founding of the Entrepreneurship College, marking a new stage for SUSTech’s innovation and entrepreneurship education.

The event held unveiling and awarding ceremonies for university-enterprise collaboration, including the unveiling of SUSTech’s Huawei ICT Academy and the establishment of two off-campus training bases in Ganzhou and Dongguan. All parties will deepen cooperation in talent training, industry practice, and technology transfer, promoting close alignment between innovation and entrepreneurship education and industry needs.

The off-campus mentor appointment ceremony for the Entrepreneurship College was held concurrently, with appointment letters issued to entrepreneurship mentors, industry mentors, and alumni mentors on site. The mentor team, composed of on-campus experts and scholars, seasoned industry professionals, investment institution representatives, and outstanding entrepreneurial alumni, will support student projects with guidance on entrepreneurship practice and industry resource connections. The event also included an award ceremony for outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship competition projects, presenting mentor appreciation certificates and the Entrepreneurship College’s Award for Historic Pioneering Breakthrough at the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition to honor instructors and student teams who achieved breakthroughs in high-level competitions such as the China International College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the “Challenge Cup.”

In the Rixin Training Camp themed sharing session, a lecturer from Huawei ICT Academy presented on “Deepening Technical Foundation and Fostering Talent through University-Industry Collaboration.” Alumni entrepreneurs and student representatives from SUSTech shared their experiences on “Those Who Innovate Prevail: From the Lab to the First Order,” discussing their experiences in technological innovation, achievement transformation, and market development.

The Rixin Training Camp is a hallmark event of SUSTech’s student innovation and entrepreneurship education, having cultivated over 500 trainees and more than 100 innovation and entrepreneurship project teams. SUSTech will continue to leverage Entrepreneurship College as a platform to deepen the “Four-Innovation Integration” education model, promote collaboration between internal and external resources, and help students enhance their innovation awareness, entrepreneurial skills, and industry practice capabilities. This session of the Rixin Training Camp will continue until the end of this semester.
