On January 21, 2018, the Seventh Conference of the second councils of the Southern University of Science and Technology Education Foundation (SUSTEF) was held. On the conference, Guo Yurong, the Chairperson of SUSTCEF and University Council, expressed her hope that the foundation should catch up with the international demand and grow stronger to promote the reform of SUSTech. The Vice Chairman Chen Shiyi, Council Member Wu Chuanyue and other members also attended the meeting, presided over by Ye Qin, the Vice Chairman of SUSTEF.

Chen Shiyi, the President of SUSTech, approved the performance of the foundation and expressed his thanks to all the members. He hoped that the support from the council members could continue to be the impetus for the foundation. “We should work together and explore the better future of SUSTEF,” said Chen.

Wu Chuanyue, also the Vice-President of SUSTech, presented the achievements of SUSTech for the past seven years, including holding dozens of international academic conferences and ranking 28th in Chinese mainland according to the Nature Index. He pointed out that those progress should not be separated from the support of community.

Ye Qin, also the Chief Financial Officer of SUSTech provided the annual review of the foundation. The donation amount raised steadily with the total amount of 2017 reaching to 195.52 million. “The foundation has finished several major projects in the past year and it will move on and further contributing to the development of education and SUSTech,” said Ye.

The council appointed Tu Ronghui as the Secretary of SUSTEF and Liu Ke, as the Vice Chairman of the council of SUSTEF.
