Recently, SUSTech was the venue for Forum of Tridimensional Communications for the South China Sea. The Shenzhen Science, Technology and Innovation Commission, SUSTech, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Shenzhen Cyberspace Laboratory co-hosted the forum.
The forum discussed the feasibility of Tridimensional Communications for the South China Sea as a major project and explored technical routes and alternative construction optimizations. SUSTech Associate Vice President for International Affairs and Chief Operating Officer Lu Chun, Shenzhen Future Networks Institute Director Liu Yunjie, a member of CAE, and Shenzhen Cyberspace Laboratory Vice Director Zou Peng attended the meeting.
At the forum, Lu Chun welcomed the attendees and introduced the progress of SUSTech. Zou Peng introduced the development of Shenzhen Cyberspace Laboratory. Liu Yunjie introduced the plan for building Tridimensional Communications for the South China Sea. Later, the experts at the forum had an in-depth discussion and put forward many helpful suggestions.
As a new laboratory approved by Guangdong Province Municipality that aims for accreditation as a national laboratory, Shenzhen Cyberspace Laboratory aims to strengthen the connection between country’s development strategy, and the development strategy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay area. The important research fields of Shenzhen Cyberspace Laboratory are networks and communication. The Tridimensional Communications for the South China Sea is one of the major scientific advances to be made in the fields of network and communications.
The forum put forward tentative ideas about how Shenzhen Cyberspace Laboratory could construct the Tridimensional Communications for the South China Sea, which has great significance for the next step of construction.
