At the coming of the Mid-autumn Day, an activity —– distribute postcards for students staying in college, was carried out in Zhiren College, for sending them to their families. Lots of nice SUSTC postcards were put on the desks at the gate of the office, each of which delivered students’ homesickness to their families. Although the slogan of this activity — “I will choose the most beautiful one to send it to my love”, was a little sensational, it was full of students’ strong feelings to their families.
The backgrounds printed on the postcards distributed could be mainly classified into three kinds: actual scene of SUSTC, military training and the college cat “Durian”. Among them, the postcards with “Durian” as the background were particularly likeable and gone in an instant.
It was found after a random interviews that this was the first time for many students not to have the Mid-autumn Day at home. When they were asked whom they wanted to send the postcards to, most of them replied they wanted to send them to their families. “Such postcards were considered to be true to our life and even the situation of my military training was taken on one postcard, I thought my parents would be quite happy if they saw the postcard”, one freshman of 2015 who did not want to be named said. There were also some students saying that they wanted to send such postcards to their friends in other universities to let them make a good impression to SUSTC.
