Last week, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) was the host of the SUSTech-HKU Joint Research Symposium 2018. The Graduate Schools of SUSTech and the University of Hong Kong (HKU) worked together to organize the seminar. SUSTech Vice President Teng Jinguang and HKU Vice President Andy Hor both attended the meeting.
As part of the seminar, researchers from both institutions presented their latest research. The 30 doctoral students reported their academic progress through either oral briefings or poster presentations. The outdoor student poster exhibition attracted many teachers and students to stop and observe.
The joint doctoral training program between SUSTech and HKU started in 2016. So far, nearly 90 students have been admitted across 3 intake years. The doctoral students are studying a variety of subjects such as science, engineering, and medicine.
