Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) was a co-sponsor, along with the Shenzhen Life Science and Biotechnology Association, of the SUSTech Bio-Health Technology Exchange and Docking Meeting.” The meeting was jointly organized by SUSTech’s Technology Transfer Center and Departments of Biology and Biomedical Engineering.

The meeting focused on the cutting edge issues of bio-health. 37 experts, professors, entrepreneurs, and hospital research leaders were invited to discuss the combination of basic research and industrial application in fields like bio-health and biomedical engineering. It provided a platform for exchanges and cooperation between researchers and experts in these fields.

Deputy Director Zhang Zuotai of the SUSTech Technology Transfer Center briefed the audience as to SUSTech’s production, education, and research. Deputy Secretary-General Zhang Zhuangli of the Shenzhen Life Science and Biotechnology Association familiarized the attendees with the current status of Shenzhen’s bio-industry. Associate Professors Ji Shengjian of SUSTech’s Department of Biology and Chen Fangyi of the Department of Biomedical Engineering spoke about the developments of their respective departments.

Professors from the Departments of Biology and Biomedical Engineering shared their exciting research projects with the bio-health and biomedical enterprises and institutions in attendance. Those enterprises and institutions then introduced their own research projects to the SUSTech professors, as part of a series of in-depth exchanges.
