Days ago, Guangdong Provincial Youth League informed that 7 research projects in SUSTech received total fund of 115,000 Yuan from 2016 Special Fund Program for Guangdong College Student Research & Innovation Cultivation (Climbing Program), which were submitted by SUSTech Youth League. Besides, as stipulated in SUSTech Regulations on Management of Climbing Program Funding, the SUSTech Research Department invited expert panel to review and decided 13 projects will be funded by SUSTech Climbing Program. By adding the fund coming from the provincial Climbing Program, the total fund has reached 465,000 Yuan. 

The Climbing Program is the special fund established by Guangdong Provincial Youth League and Department of Finance, which is designed to cultivate research & innovation ability of Guangdong college students. Each year, 20 million Yuan will be allocated from the fund to sponsor 1,000 college student research & innovation teams to engage in pioneering and leading practice in research & innovations. The special fund will be given to 3 types of projects, e.g., natural science, philosophy & sociology, and production & invention. The natural-science projects will receive 15,000 Yuan support while production & invention project will receive 20,000 Yuan support. For projects receiving the fund from the provincial Climbing Program, SUSTech will provide support of the same amount.
