SUSTech Professors Hisao Ishibuchi and Ryoji Tanabe Selected for the GECCO2017 Best Paper Candidate List
| 05/05/2017

GECCO2017 (The Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference) recently published the Best Paper candidates, and SUSTech’s computer science and engineering professors Hisao Ishibuchi and Ryoji Tanabe’s two papers “Reference Point Specification in Hypervolume Calculation for Fair Comparison and Efficient Search” and “TPAM: A Simulation-Based Model for Quantitimetrical Analyzing Parameter Adaptation Methods” made the highly-sought list.

Pr. Hisao Ishibuchi who is a IEEE Fellow, is currently the editor of IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine. He was the Vice President of IEEE Computing Intelligence (2010-2013) and of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science in 2007. Ryoji Tanabe, Assistant Professor, and Ph.D. graduate from the University of Tokyo in 2016, was awarded the IEEE CEC2014 Real-Time Parameters Single Target Optimization Contest.

Background information

The International Conference on Genetic and Evolutionary Computing (GECCO) started in 1999. The conference focuses on the latest and high-level scientific research in the fields of genetic and evolutionary computing. The scope of the study includes: genetic algorithms, genetic programming, ant colony optimization and group intelligence, complex systems and evolution of machine learning. GECCO2017 will be held from July 15 to 17 this year in Berlin, Germany.
