On June 3rd 2017, the province of Guangdong held a conference to showcase the region’s top universities construction, promotion and research in the city of Foshan. SUSTech was featured with three scientific research achievements selected in the exhibition. Guangdong Provincial Government Party member Chen Yunxian and Director of Guangdong Provincial Department of Education Jing Lihu visited the university’s exhibition and were introduced to its latest achievements.
The exhibition “X-LED – advanced lighting and display technology” is a project developed by Sun Xiaowei’s team, and the “Car” developed by Professor Wang Haijiang and his team, while the third project was from Professor Zhao Yisheng and his team entitled “Super-hard material nano-polycrystalline R & D and industrialization”. All three projects attracted a large number of spectators, which fully testifies to SUSTech’s scientific research relevance, and its successful production and research achievements.
The conference was organized by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, and aimed to implement the 12th Party Congress’s recommendations which includes a strong focus on developing high-level universities, as well as exploring the new model of mutual support between universities and industries. More than 500 people attended the meeting, including top government officials and university and research professors and industry senior management. SUSTech’s representatives from the Office of Strategic Planning, Technology Transfer Center and Graduate School attended the conference and presented the projects at the exhibition stand.
