On May 26, the Future Forum x Cities Summit – Shenzhen was held at Shenzhen Talent Park. Co-organized by Future Forum, Shenzhen Nanshan People’s Government, and Tencent Charity Foundation, the event welcomed SUSTech leaders such as President Chen Shiyi and Department Head of Mathematics Xia Zhihong. Chen Shiyi and Xia Zhihong delivered the opening speech and took part in a panel discussion around the theme: “Activated from the Source: The Vital Basic Scientific Research.”
Other distinguished guests in business and academia included Tencent Founder, Chairman and CEO Ma Huateng, 2016 Laureate in Future Science Prize in Life Sciences Lu Yuming and 2016 Laureate in Future Science Prize in Physical Science Xue Qikun. With their expertise, they expressed their opinions and shared their ideas on basic scientific research and its industrial applications.
