February 16 saw the opening ceremony of the second semester of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) Experimental Education Group (Nanshan). SUSTech University Council Chairperson Guo Yurong, Chief Financial Officer Ye Qin, and all the heads and teachers of the SUSTech Experimental School attended the opening ceremony, hosted by SUSTech Experimental Education Group Principal Tang Jiahong.

Guo Yurong sent all the teachers her greetings and blessings of the New Year. She said that the Experimental Education Group has made a great progress under the joint efforts of all teachers. SUSTech No.1 Experimental Primary School, SUSTech No. 2 Experimental Primary School and SUSTech Kindergarten have developed a high quality educational experience across Nanshan District and Shenzhen in a short period of time. The SUSTech Experimental Education Group will continue to work hard and actively explore in the New Year. By learning from each other, the SUSTech Experimental Education Group will build a solid primary education platform to make greater contributions to basic education in Shenzhen. She hoped that all the teachers would work together to focus on cultivating more happy and well-rounded students.

Tang Jiahong reviewed the Experimental Education Group’s achievements since its establishment and proposed its 2019 work plan in line with the three-year action plan. He hoped that each member school would refine its work goals and implement their respective plans.

Each member school delivered the work report. Principal Zhang Fan of No.1 Experimental Primary School recommended eight tasks for the spring semester. Principal Tang Xiaoyong of No. 2 Experiment Primary School is aiming to improve the basic education and carry out some innovative practices. Kindergarten Principal Shao Xiao is going to going to enhance teaching quality this semester. Experimental Education Group Head Teacher Wang Mengnan also spoke about the group’s international program.

Ye Qin noted that the Experimental Education Group’s three-year action plan and hoped that the schools and their teachers would understand the action plan, as all work is centered around that action plan.

Tang Jiahong said that this was the first time that the group held a general meeting of teachers, further promoting their common understanding. It would inspire confidence and lay a foundation for the development of the Experimental Education Group.
