BFA U15 Baseball Championship kicked off at SUSTech

This week saw Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) host the opening ceremony of the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) Under 15 (U/15) Baseball Championships. SUSTech University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang and Nanshan District Deputy Director of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau attended the opening ceremony.

The SUSTech Baseball Field will host several matches from both Group A and B, as well as ranking matches. Li Fengliang and Chen Dengfu welcomed the unified Korean team and Indonesia for the first match of the tournament at SUSTech.

The BFA U/15 Baseball Championship is the most competitive and influential baseball event in the under 15 age group in Asia. Over a week, 8 teams across Asia will fight for the two qualifying positions in the World Baseball Softball Championships (WBSC) U-15 Baseball World Cup 2020.

Nearly 300 people from the BFA, the 8 member federations, domestic and foreign media, business partners and sponsors have descended on Shenzhen to participate in exchange activities throughout the 7 day event, that is due to finish on Sunday with the final at Zhongshan Park Baseball Stadium in Nanshan District.
