January 19 saw the College of Sciences of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) hold its 2019 New Year Party. SUSTech Council Chairperson, Guo Yurong, Director of the Office of Communications and Public Relations Zhang Ling and Director of the Office of Human Resources Chen Zhifeng attended the party. The College of Sciences worked with other departments to organize the event, with nearly 200 faculty members and their families attending to welcome the Spring Festival.

Guo Yurong appreciated the achievements made by the College. She praised their teaching, research and organizational achievements in 2018, and hoped that they would continue to get better in 2019. Guo anticipated that the College would adhere to SUSTech’s spirit of “Dare to try, be truth-seeking practical, reform and innovate so as to pursuit excellence”, in order to achieve new heights.

Dean of the College of Sciences Yang Xueming delivered the New Year address. He noted that the College of Sciences will play a leading role in 2019 and insisted on continued reform and innovation within the College to help further the work of the College. College Council Chairperson and Vice Dean He Jiaqing and Vice Dean Zhang Xumu also expressed their wishes to the teachers and students.

Teacher and family representatives brought wonderful artistic performances, ahead of the wishing of a good New Year .
