SUSTC Scientific Research Projects Attracted Entrepreneurs’ Attention at China High-tech Fair

This is the first time for SUSTC to participate in China Hi-tech Fair, which is renowned as “the No.1 Technology Show in China”. Many high-tech enterprises looked for corprations with the university, which became a highlight of the exbition. The Chariman of Universtiy Council Li Ming, President Chen Shiyi, Vice President Tang Tao, Mr. Ye Qin, Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Wang Yongjie, member of Universtiy Council and other executives attended the activity.

Participating the high-tech fair will provide a platform of showing the achievements and prospects of the university’s development and future planing. We have shown the faculty, research projects and achimvements through the exibitions. There are total 14 projects from our faculty have been shown in this fair.

Our student maker groups submitted their applications several months before the fair. After careful screening, five projects was approved, namely the underwater robot developed by the SUSTC Maker Marathon Team, the CloudPrint system developed by the SUSTC Computer Research Association, the open source fixed-wing aircraft developed by the SUSTC Model Aircraft Club, the 3D printer and proprietary models developed by the SUSTC 3D Printing Club, and the LED rotating display light developed by the SUSTC Intelligence Research Club.

The student maker projects have highlighted the innovative spirit and the research enthusiasm of SUSTC students, brought more interaction and vitality to the Hi-Tech Fair, and showcased the robust growth of SUSTC as a young university with scientific potential, research dreams and top-caliber innovative talents.

Thousands of visitors came to the booth and our students volunteers provide a good service, inculding on-site guidance.

Chariman of Universtiy Council Li Ming and President Chen Shiyi have visited the booth and provided many pratical suggestions. Chairman Li suggested that the university shold further make good use the platform to demonstrate our strong research capabilities and the ability of transforming scientific research findings. He believed that our university will become thelocal and region source of the innovation.

President Chenshiyi said that SUSTC will have an early and comprehensive preparation for the next China High-tech Fair. The univestiy will reagard this fari as a good oppurnity to accerlate the knowledge transofrming and stimulate student creativity.

It is reported that, the student maker game will start in the begining of next year. The winners of the game will bring their projects to the China High-tech Fair.
