July 23, Shenzhen, China-As the Army Day ofthe Chinese Peoples Liberation Army is drawing near, Professor Zheng Qin, SUSTC Vice-President, headed a delegation to Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Frontier Detachment. Student representatives and directors from the student affair office, Youth League committee, Communication and Public Relation Department and college attended the above activity.

Professor Zheng Qin, SUSTC Vice-President,donated the supplies to the detachment on behalf of the university and extended the heartfelt gratitude to the long-standing strong support. Vice President Qin also conveyed the cordial greetings and good wishes of Secretary Li Ming and President Shiyi Chen. Both sides will continue to have an in-depth collaboration in the fields of patriotic education, student military training and national defense education.

The military commissar Zhang Jun expressed thanks to the support from SUSTC and introduced the basic situation and training of the detachment. Commissar Zhang also said that the detachment will continue to work with the university as best as they can to carry out the student military training project this year.

Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Frontier Detachment defends the border area of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. The detachment works scrupulously to fulfill the duties. Border Management，Policing and Patrolling and Inspection are the main responsibilities of the detachment. Both sides have started the cooperation since January 2015.
