July 20 Brisbane, Australia–At the invitation of Peter Høj, the president of The University of Queensland in Australia, SUSTC President Professor Shiyi Chen paid an officialvisit to the university on July 17. The University of Queensland attaches greatimportance to President Chen’s visit. Professor Peter Høj, President of TheUniversity of Queensland, Professor G.Q. Max Lu, Provost and SeniorVice-President and Professor Monique Skidmore, Deputy Vice-Chancellor(International) met with President Chen and the delegation.
The University of Queensland expressesdeep appreciation for the educational philosophy, vision and the achievementsof SUSTC and hopes the two sides could carry out practical cooperation instudent exchange, teacher exchange, research collaboration, cooperation inrunning schools and other fields.
President Chen also met with Professor Simon Biggs, Executive Dean ofFaculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology, Professor StephenWalker, Executive Dean of Faculty of Science, Professor Peter Gray, Director ofthe Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, ProfessorPankaj Sah, director of the Institute of Neuroscience Colloquium, Julian Wilson,directorof language center and Ben Kelly, director of the Confucius Institute.President Chen visited the campus and the laboratory of the faculty ofEngineering, Architecture and Information Technology.

President Professor Shiyi Chen also paid an official visit to the The University of Auckland on July 16 and met with Professor Nic Smith, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Bryony James, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Caroline Daley, the Dean of Graduate Studies and Professor Miranda Herbert,. The two sides could carry out practical cooperation in student exchange, teacher exchange, research collaboration, cooperation in running schools and other fields.
