On February 26, 2016, the 1st International Symposium of electromagnetic field and microwave technologies and Shenzhen Engineering Laboratory of Electronmagnetic Noninvasive Medical Tests (SELENMT) unveiling ceremony was opened in the International Conference Hall at SUSTech. The symposium,founded by Prof. CHEN Yifan from Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at SUSTech,invited the distinguished guests from City University of Hong Kong, Chinese University in Hong Kong, Zhejiang University, Xi’an University of Electronic Science and Technology, Southeast University, East China Jiaotong University, Harbin Institute of Technology and other institutions of higher education, enterprises domestically and internationally.

SUSTech Vice President TANG Tao delivered an opening speech and Prfo. CHEN, also the Chair of EEE and director of SELENMT, addressed to the guests on behalf of the organizers. 

LAI Xiangqun, deputy diretor of High-tech Industrial Development Office at the Municipal Development and Reform Commission of Shenzhen, summarized the future development and applications of electromagnetic field and microwave technologies in the field of Bio-medical Sciences LAI Xiangqun, deputy director of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission of Shenzhen. LAI also awarded a plaque for the lab to the EEE department.

The topics of this year’s Symposium covered in many fields, including the electromagnetic field numerical computation research in the field of national defense and military, design of artificial electromagnetic metasurfaces, application of integrated planar filter on microwave circuits and Bio-medical Application of Millimeter-wave technology. Prof. XUE Quan, Prof LU Guiwen from CityU HK and YIN Wenyan from Zhejiang University and Prof. XIA Mingyao and several experts presents special reports.
