On 22nd March, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) hosted first outdoor sports festival at the SUSTech baseball field.
SUSTech Vice President Tang Tao attended the event and encouraged everyone to enjoy outdoor activities and sports in the beautiful spring.
More than 200 students from across campus joined the outdoor activities, which taught students about hiking and camping, before everyone gathered around a campfire.
During the hiking session, the coach first explained important precautions to those in attendance. The teachers and students then started from the baseball field, before passing through the central square, the trail park, and finally returned to the baseball stadium. In the camping session, students experienced different survival skills such as drilling wood to make fire and setting up tents. Around the campfire, the colleges performed brilliant talent shows and the whole event ended with a chorus of “One song, One dream,”.
The event aims to create unique sports activities, enrich campus culture and enhance students’ awareness of fitness so as to improve their general qualities and develop healthy lifestyles.
